Surrender your ego by Swami Chidananda

Blessed Immortal Atman! The basis is that of of the Bhakti Vedanta is the complete realization of the non-existence, not of the importance, and no entity of ego consciousness. If both, is your that your Bhakti Vedanta must be real and effective, there must be a firm, solid conviction, resulting from an acute reflection, discrimination, analysis and knowledge that this "I" is the biggest liar, the greatest deception. It is something not-existent, he wants to prove that it exists. Granted this is the beginning of the real and true Bhakti Vedanta.

The Srimad Bhagavatam tells you the secret to achieving this Vairagya (not attachment). Not-attachment is generally thought to be the one to wealth, home, property, family and so on. This is a minor aspect of Vairagya. The most important aspect is the not-attachment to your sense of ego, your false, human personality, and all those things that were added to it to make it, give it more importance and make it appear as if it were something.

The not-existence of the ego can never be achieved if you allow that it has something for support. This ego can be strengthened through the support of wealth, status, authority, position, culture, and the idea: "I am a man of great Vairagya". If you have that idea, you're finished! You have been fooled.

Gurudev says: "Give up the ego of sannyasa, leave the ego of the brahmin, leave the ego of Vairagya, leave the ego Tyaga (renunciation)." The surrender of the ego is a terrible obstacle to your to your Bhakti and Vedanta as the gross ego of any person filled with overweening pride of wealth, status, etc.. Anything that supports this false ego and perpetuates its existence is a vice. It 's suit against spirituality and sadhana. The ego is capable of doing everything. Until you allow to do this, you have a long way to go to try and achieve a semblance of reality.

So, there should be a waiver of the false notion of reality in the same sense of ego. There should also be not-attachment to the same sense of ego. All other Tyaga (waivers) will bear fruit and become effective in supporting true Jnana and Bhakti true only if there is not-attachment to this false ego, which is the most persistent, the nearest and least recognized. If an object is remote, you can see it, but if it is something that is in your eye, you need the help of some other to view it, and then remove it for you. Even so, the ego being the closest one is the most difficult to perceive and to remove, you should lower yourself to "zero" and humble at the feet of God or Sadguru, this is the one and only way.

"Go to a Guru, sit at his feet and seeking knowledge" (Bagavad Gita IV.34 ). The Guru says: "I am here to remove the ignorance that is your own slavery, and to give you knowledge. I am the surgeon who will remove the cataract and restore your vision. I'm here to bring light instead of darkness".

In conclusion, the real Tyaga is the renunciation of your identity, because this is the epitome of ignorance. One should grasp this simple fact that the ego is our enemy. It is indeed our Samara, our slavery. You can not keep the ego and reach God, they are like the north pole and south pole. This is the truth. This must be grasped and understood. God grant that this intuition and inner understanding. Life is short, time is running away. Be honest, be serious and you are correct in your spiritual life.

God bless you!
